We believe good design does not have to correspond with excessive expense just as excessive expense does not always correspond with good design.
Meet Matt Saathof
Director and Owner of Totara Construction
Matt Saathof has been in the building industry for over 14 years. He completed his apprenticeship with a well renowned building company in the Hawkes Bay and was awarded Apprentice of the year in his region and second in the Nationals. Matt gained diverse skills and quickly excelled into becoming a foreman and then a site manager, building multi million-dollar homes and commercial developments. Matt spent two years abroad, in Papa New Guinea and Fiji building a Missionary complex and the International Fijian Airport upgrade where he developed his project and team management skills.
Matt has a Double Diploma in Construction Management and Quantity Surveying that he achieved while working full time. After gaining all this knowledge and expertise, Matt made the strategic decision in 2016 to start Totara Construction and has seen the business go from leaps to bounds. The staff of Totara Construction are loyal, hard working and enjoy the work environment and atmosphere.
Matt and his wife, Grace are a great team and work together to help you achieve your dream home. Grace will assist in Interior Design, often a daunting task with many decisions to be made.
